Mohan Tavorath
Chief Executive Officer
Mohan has over seventeen years of experience at large Fortune 100 corporations, premier Big 4 consulting firms and innovative and entrepreneurial startups, having held executive and management positions in North America and Asia. Prior to Walz, Mohan served as Director of Business Strategy and Technology Architecture at MetLife (#37 on the Fortune 100) where he was responsible for strategic planning, technology architecture and governance, aligning business and technology strategy with IT initiatives in the Institutional line of business. Prior to MetLife, he was the Chief Technology Architect of a Fortune 10 Financial Services National Account team at KPMG Consulting where he was responsible for client relationship management, business development, technology leadership, and solution definition and delivery. Mohan also served as Practice Manager at two software consulting firms where he led various technology, business process re-engineering and operations management initiatives for clients that spanned financial services, insurance, investment management, financial operations, public services, engineering and artificial intelligence. He has been published in technology publications from the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) and spoken at various national conferences.
Mohan graduated from Columbia University in New York with a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Dean’s List) and holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science (with Distinction) from the University of Poona.
Martin Muoto
SVP Sales
Martin spent the last fifteen years operating and investing in technology and outsourcing companies. Prior to Walz, he served as President, NewRoads Direct Response and successfully turned around its product fulfillment and logistics division. Martin was also a Principal and founding Member of Accretive Technology Partners, a leading private equity firm focused on building world-class business process outsourcing (BPO) companies. Prior to joining Accretive, Martin was Vice President of Strategic Alliances at Chordiant Software (NASDAQ; CHRD), a leading provider of customer relationship management (CRM) software. Previously, Martin was Director of Research at General Atlantic Partners, one of the largest private equity firms focused on software and related IT investments and an analyst at the Gartner Group, where he launched Gartner’s CRM Practice.
Martin graduated from The Wharton School and the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania with degrees in Economics, Multinational Management and Industrial Sociology.
Jeff Sherwood
SVP Operations and Finance
Jeff Sherwood currently serves as SVP, Operations and Finance of the Walz Group. Jeff has spent the past 25 years managing financial operations in various industries. Additionally, he has held sales, audit, financial accounting and operational responsibilities at Fortune 500 companies that included Disney, PepsiCo and Bowe Bell and Howell. At Walz, he oversees the fulfillment of our overall operations and manages the compilation and analysis of financial results for the organization.
Jeff is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and graduated with high honors with a degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois.
Antonio Castro
Chief Information Officer
Antonio currently serves as Chief Information Officer of the Walz Group. Antonio comes from more than 10 years of business, technology and operational leadership positions at the world’s largest global financial services and management consulting firms. Prior to joining Walz, Antonio served as Senior Vice President at Barclays Capital and Lehman Brothers where he ran a global technology and operations function and drove strategic change programs across global front office, risk management and finance divisions. Prior to that, he led KPMG and Bearingpoint’s Capital Markets Technology Strategy and Architecture practice, where he worked with clients such as GE Capital, AIG, Citigroup, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse, PayPal/EBay and Vanguard.
Antonio graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with an Electrical Engineering minor. Antonio has published a number of industry articles on topics such as financial services risk and compliance architecture, software engineering risk management practices, and service-oriented architecture applied in financial services.
Jim August
SVP Technology Solutions
Jim August currently serves as SVP, Technology Solutions of the Walz Group. Prior to joining Walz, Jim was a Managing Director in the financial services practice at Pricewaterhouse Coopers. He has over 30 years of IT management experience and has held executive leadership positions in technology, sales and marketing at premier management consulting firms such as Ernst & Young and KPMG. Jim served as the Chief Technology Architect at MetLife where he was responsible for technology strategy across the enterprise. In addition to experience growing smaller technology start-ups, Jim spent over 16 years at IBM - most prominently as product manager for DB2, IBM’s flagship relational database management system.
Jim has extensive experience in new product development, application development, service-oriented architecture, enterprise integration technology, data warehousing, and distributed and mainframe systems. He has served as chairperson of ACORD’s Life products standards technical subcommittee, which defines the insurance industry’s XML standards organization.
Jim graduated with a Master’s degree in Business Administration, with honors, from Columbia University in New York and is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in management and marketing, magna cum laude, from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
